2022 Kia Stinger: New Logo & More Powerful Engines

A refreshed version of the Kia Stinger has just been released in US for the 2022 model year.

While it’s a modest facelift, there are still some serious upgrades to be found in the latest edition of the premium Kia sports sedan.

These include more powerful engines, interior upgrades, the new Kia logo, and more. The pricing for each of the trim levels is clearer than it has been in the past, making it easier for buyers to pick the one that best suits their needs and budget.

The base 2022 Kia Stinger GT-Line incorporates a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. @ 1,650-4,000 rpm . The starting price for the GT-Line model is $36,090, plus the $1,045 destination fee.

If you want the same model with the Sun & Sound package included, then the price goes up to $38,390.

The GT V6 model has been dropped in favor of the 2022 Kia Stinger GT1, which costs $43,690 in US, while the GT2 comes in at $51,290.

Both models come equipped with a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that generates 368 horsepower and 376 lb.-ft. @ 1,300-4,500 rpm.

Each of the 2022 Kia Stinger trim levels can get all-wheel drive included for an additional $2,000.

Is 2022 Stinger still the fastest Kia on the market?

The 2022 Kia Stinger is still the fastest Kia you can get. However, that is about to change with the arrival of the all-new Kia EV6 GT.

The all-electric Kia crossover, which is slated to make its official US debut in the coming days, will get from 0 to 60 miles per hour quicker than the refreshed Stinger. New Kia EV6 goes 0-60 in a mere 3,5 seconds, while the Stinger gets there in 4,7 seconds.

While the all electric EV6 model will be quicker, the Stinger will remain the fastest gasoline-powered Kia.

2022 Kia Stinger Scorpion special edition model

Starting from the 2022 model year, the Stinger will be offered with a limited edition trim, called the Scorpion Special Edition.

It is expected to arrive in late spring and will be available in a few unique exterior colors, which are Snow White, Aurora Black, and Ceramic Silver.

The 2022 Kia Stinger Scorpion special edition model comes equipped with unique black alloy wheels, a raised rear spoiler, black trim, and carbon fiber accents on the inside.

This is exciting Kia news, but it gets better still, as the South Korean carmaker have confirmed that there will be more Stinger special edition models coming in the future.

The Stinger product planning manager, Paul Fisher, stated that a few exterior colors have been held back and may in fact stay that way until they are made available for upcoming special edition models of the Kia Stinger.

One thing that we can confirm is the colors choices that will be readily available for the 2022 Stinger. Those colors are Snow White Pearl, Ceramic Silver, Panthera Metal, Aurora Black Pearl, Micro Blue, Hi Chroma Red, and newly added Ascot Green.

There are some colors that will not be available in the U.S. market, with those being Silky Silver, Deep Chroma Blue, and Neon Orange.
