Second-generation Kia Sorento SUV spied in South Korea.
Next generation Kia Sorento has made its public appearance again.
The 7-seater Kia crossover that we’ve already talked about in the past and also provided the very-first test drive report, was caught again somewhere in South Korea.
What we know about the 2010 Kia Sorento so far is that its exterior design will bring many styling cues from the KND-4 concept car, which was first unveiled at the 2007 Busan Motor show. It will be larger than the current model and is expected to offer seating for five or seven people.
As several reports suggested, we were also confirmed that the next-generation Sorento will be moved from a sturdy truck frame to a unibody platform.
The powertrain will also be far more advanced than that available in the existing model.
The 2010 Sorento will feature a frugal 2,2L four-cylinder diesel engine with an estimated rating of 200 horsepower. Coupled with a brand-new, in-house developed, six-speed automatic transmission, the engine is expected to provide a class-leading fuel efficiency.
Codenamed XM, the new Kia Sorento is scheduled to make its world premiere in the spring of 2009, with sales commencing later in the year. [Source: Bobaedream]
2010 Kia Sorento spy shots
Stay tuned for more news about Kia Sorento SUV!
It might debut at geneva motorshow next year according to an article which I posted on the forums last month or before last month… I’m sure they could have made the wheels better.
That’s true Boris! I hope they don’t make it to production.
It will be debuting at NAIAS! Made in America, revealed in America!
NAIAS is even better.
When are we going to see this this stripped off??? I’m sick of photo’s of cammo.
There was rendered photos on here a while ago and a spy shot of the front of the Sorento with no camo posted a while ago
that pic with no front camo doesnt look real to me. I personally feel its an edit/hoax. if the photographer could take a pic of the front why couldnt he just walk over behind the car and take another pic?
My regional director confrimed that pic is of the Sorento. You have to remember that it was in a garage. Probly one of the plants. When you are at the RD sites etc you are not allowed to take photos. My GSM went to Korea and saw the Forte before it was released and he was told no pics of the vehicles
I agree with Boris. If the photographer could have taken one shot, how hard would it have been to take other shots. No flash and very discreet. Click, click, click….done!!! You don’t need a huge digital SLR to get decent shots these days, look at you phone to start with, you can get reasonable shots now in very low light conditions.
I think that that photo was legitimate, why risk taking more than one photo? Besides, that photo looks just like the rendering.
It’s great to hear news on new Korean vehicles. Can you please learn the difference between “it’s” and its”? You’re using “it’s” when “its” is appropriate. Basic English, should be known by journalists, even motoring ones.
