The US-manufactured Kia Sorento CUV receives a mid-cycle styling update and packaging upgrades for the 2013 model year!
With the release of a detailed technical information and new photos, Kia has officially unveiled the 2013 Kia Sorento CUV earlier today!
The all-new Kia Sorento enters its third model year with a slightly updated exterior and more refined interior. In addition, the 2013 Kia Sorento also brings several trims and packaging upgrades to better suit the consumer’s needs.
Supported by a large number of awards and sales milestones, the 2013 Kia Sorento features a slightly redesigned front-fascia with Kia’s new signature grille being the most notable feat of the upgraded CUV.
Available in LX, EX and SX trim levels, the Sorento crossover vehicle offers standard 17-inch alloy wheels and body-color outside mirrors with integrated LED turn signal indicators.
Other enhancements include standard leather seating for the EX trim and a newly standard third-row seat for the LX V6 trim. In addition, the base 2013 Sorento LX now offers the optional UVO voice activated infotainment system.
New to the 2013 Sorento is a brand- new LX Convenience Plus Package, which includes an eight-way power driver’s seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and a First Aid Kit for family-minded consumers.
Kia Sorento engine options include a 2.4L four-cylinder engine with 175 horsepower and 169 lb-ft of torque, a 2.4L four-cylinder GDI engine with 191 horsepower and a 3.5L V6 unit with 276 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque. All engines are paired with Kia’s in-house developed six-speed automatic transmission.
Kia has not released any information about the 2013 Kia Sorento pricing. Expect the facelifted CUV to make its official US-market premiere at the upcoming New York Auto Show next month!

Too freaking low… this cars are getting really low ground clearance… -.-‘
Well, it’s a crossover vehicle after all.
🙂
I do not see much changes in the facia at all….This is an SX and it looks exactly like the 2012…..
similar to 2012
I heard that all models are getting the sx grill and new fog lights…….thats about it though
was better to keep the ugly black rockerpannela and ugly black wheelcages the vehcle seem lower but just an illusion !
it look realy cleaner with no black cheap addon rocker pannel and wheelcage plastic!
new bumpers without black look great!
Look at Sorento pictures for 2012 on Kia Media. They are the EXACT same pictures for 2013 on Kia Media.
This Sorento’s front is different than current Sorento sold here in Brazil…
So when do the new CUV’s hit the dealerships? Been looking and can not find when they are on the lots.
Would be nice to see %0apr 72mo as well.
Jim. The 2013 Kia Sorento’s will be hitting Canada in 1 week so I would assume the US will be the same.
Just got back from Taylor Kia in Toledo, and drove a 2013 Sorento. Nothing has changed to the styling, and the LX and EX have the same front as last year.
So in 1 week will be out in Canada? WOW…. I was thinking the 2013’s might not be out till late summer. in the US.
thx for the info..
KIA rep told me the 2013’s will be out late April to early May.
I was the FWD EX V6 with sunroof. I like Dark Cherry with the Beige interior, but am I going to be sorry with a light color on the inside? Any thoughts?

You want to know what a 2013 Sorento is like? Drive a 2012 model. The only difference is the 10th digit in the VIN number.
So if I get the beige interior , how does it hold up against stains and such? I want that color but will I be sorry?
Also AWD vs FWD. I like that FWD gets 2mpg more then AWD.
I live in Seattle so FWD or AWD?
I drive the pass off and on and stuff. No serious 4×4.
Thoughts?
Kia didn’t say “2013 facelifted Sorento” anywhere in their official product literature. The heading of this blog post is misleading. Not a single thing has changed to the exterior or the interior of the Sorento…not even one line.
Let me re-word that….Not a single thing has changed to the exterior or interior DESIGN of the Sorento…not even one line. They did repackage and move around some features…but that’s it. 2013 Sedona at New York? I really hope so. My Sedonas are up to 175,000 and 207,000 miles. For those of you so fortunate to be using the metric system, that is 282,000 and 331,500 kms. Looking to replace at least one of them with the new model – I want turbo-4 and tighter turning radius. It’s like turning around a battleship.
I just got my 2013 Sorento yesterday from Cobb County Kia in GA! It is purely awesome!!!! The UVO voice recognition features are amazing. You just can’t get all of these features from any other make without spending $10,000 more. The 3rd row seating is great for the little ones and their friends. The four cylinder GDI engine feels the same as a v6 on other makes. I previously had a 4cl Ford Explorer. This vehicle blows it away. On the first 250 miles I am getting 27MPG accurately calculated (not by the on-board computer). I can’t say enough about this vehicle!
Oh, and my 2013 looks exactly like the 2012. My understanding is that KIA is making changes to the SX later in the year, mid production.
I’m waiting patiently.
OOPS! talk about egg on their face. If you go to thekoreancarblog you will notice that they have removed the 2013 kia sorento face lift post…
Only changes are packages. No external changes until December 2012.
A SX will be cheaper than the norm $34000 price tag
I wish they would offer something other than the washed out black interior (or the two tone dove). Black leather must be really cheap in Korea.
I just picked up my 2013 Sorento and love it!! Got the SX in Titanium Silver. Does anyone know if the Weathertech “perfectly fitting” car mats for the 2012 will fit the 2013? Of course none of the website have accessories yet for the 2013 model but I want to get the floor mats before it gets dirty. I’d get mats for all 3 rows. Thanks a bunch!
The 2013 is the same as the 2012. Big changes will come on the 2014 expected in April of 2013.
I purchased my ’13 Sorento EX 6/30/12. I got the Dark Cherry/Blk interior fully loaded. Love the voice recognition tech, love the Infinity 10 speaker surround with GPS & XMSirius radio, love the cooled driver seat (altho it could be better), love the panoramic sunroof & love the lively 3.5l V6… It handles great, nice turn radius, nice throttle response & smooth as can be. My wife has a Yukon XL & it handles the bumps on older roads much smoother but then again, this is a somewhat compact suv, cuv, whatever ya wanna call it.
I’m getting about 25mpg so far but thats city & hwy miles. The sticker was a little over 35k but walked out 100$ over invoice. My 16yr old got my suv so I didnt have a trade in..
So, if what everyone says is true, most all of the accessories & misc parts for the ’12 should work for the ’13?
I’ve seen a few things I’d like to look into. A bully bar up front, dash cover and possibly some added chrome touches to the interior..
