It’s absolutely fair to suggest that the Seltos small SUV is a global sales success, as this is a vehicle that breaks sales records wherever it goes.

The next stop for the new Kia Seltos will be in North America, with the fantastic looking little SUV set to hit showrooms in Canada.

We know this to be true, because news of the Canadian release was delivered by Kia themselves. While the 2020 Forte 5-door hatchback was being unveiled in Canada, officials from the automaker made it clear that the Seltos will also soon be heading north of the border.

What we don’t know yet is what the official Canadian launch date for the Seltos. That said, as a 2020 model, it will most likely be in the early part of next year.

North American premiere at the Los Angeles auto show

As we have mentioned before, the Seltos will also be landing in the U.S. as well. You can expect to get your first look at the U.S. version of the Kia Seltos at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show.

That’s certainly an exciting event to attend, made even more so by the that you will get an up close and personal look at the globally popular Seltos SUV.

New Kia Seltos is a great seller

Earlier in this piece, we made mention of sales records for the Seltos. Those initial records were set in India and South Korea, where the vehicle has routinely made huge monthly numbers.

In India, customers placed roughly 50,000 preorders for the Seltos, which is all the more astonishing when you consider that this was the first ever Kia vehicle to be sold in the Indian market.

The news is also good on the domestic front for Kia, with the Seltos moving more than 14,000 units despite only being available for 3 months. The early sales numbers have it ahead of its biggest rivals, which are the Hyundai Kona, SsangYong Tivoli, and Renault-Samsung SM3.

When you consider just how well the Seltos has done in other markets across the world, you have to feel that it will also be a hit in North America.

One of the things that is sure to tempt consumers in Canada and the U.S. is the large combinations of engines, transmissions, colors, and features that will be made available.

The Seltos will have some stiff competitionin Canada, though, with the likes of the Mazda CX-3, Hyundai Kona, Honda HR-V, and Nissan Kicks already in this segment.

It may well be the vehicle that stands out the most that wins this battle, which means that the Kia Seltos definitely has a fighting chance of landing at the top of the heap.
