New Sedona MPV Debuting At New York Auto Show, Will Showcase New Styling

Kia’s highly-anticipated 2015 Sedona people-mover will be officially unveiled at the 2014 New York Auto Show next month.

According to latest reports, the fully redesigned 7-seat minivan will be the automaker’s first model to wear an all-new face.

The automobile spies have already caught the next-generation Sedona MPV model on previous occasions, but the front fascia didn’t seem to be a radical departure from the current Kia vehicle designs.

The new Sedona, known also as Carnival in some other markets worldwide, will likely take some design cues from the KV7 concept, albeit in a toned down form.

There are expected to be a number of new technology features in the fully revamped model, including blind spot detection, lane departure warning, and an updated infotainment system that will benefit both the drive and passengers in the rear.

The safety and technology features will also be improved, as will the list of standard equipment.

The completely redesigned Kia Sedona MPV is expected to offer some solid competition for the Honda Odyssey and other minivans on the market.

Pricing and specification details are expected to be released closer to the launch date, with more information likely to be available after its motor show debut in April.

Evolution example: 2006 Honda CR-V, 2006 Kia sportage, 2007 Toyota Rav-4 and 7 years later: 2014 CR-V, 2014 Rav-4, 2014 Kia Sportage. All Honda did was make the CR-V longer and gave the headlights and tail lights a minor change. All Toyota did was change the headlights and placed Audi like tail lights at the backend. Hmmm, the 2006 Sportage looks nothing like the 2014 Sportage. Will the Sportage take after the Niro or the Provo? Kia knows how evoloutionize.

More evolution: 2003 Toyota Highlander vs. 2003 Kia Sorento. 2009 Toyota Highlander Vs. 2011 Kia Sorento. 2014 Toyota highlander vs. 2015 Kia Sorento on spy shots. Each Sorento has been redesigned from the ground up unlike the Toyota which when finally getting redesigned the interior has shrank. You have less cargo room, less headroom and less leg room in the back. And the new Highalnder really isn’t that stylish. All the side profile is is a Ford Edges’ but jst a longer version.
