This is what the new 2018 Kia Rio 5-door hatchback looks like.
Kia unveiled the new Rio 5-door hatchback at the Paris Motor Show over the weekend, showing of a vehicle that is superior in many ways to the outgoing model.
After a full makeover for the 2018 model year, the new Kia Rio is set to challenge the best vehicles that Europe has to offer in the sub-compact car segment.
As you’ll see in the videos, the 2018 Kia Rio 5-door hatchback looks great from the outside, but it also shines in the cabin, thanks in large part to the use of upscale materials that help give the interior a premium look.
Under the hood, the Euro-market Kia Rio offers a wide range of small gasoline and diesel engines, including a brand-new 1,0L turbocharged three-cylinder unit.
The top of the range Rio trim levels can have the engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, while the base models have a 5-speed unit.
While the car is expected to arrive in the US at the end of 2017, there is no official release date available at this point. Also, there’s no official word on pricing yet.

Kia Rio video No. 2
The second Kia Rio video in this blog post reveals some cool details about the car. This is a kind of in-depth walkaround review, shot at Kia’s Frankfurt (Germany) headquarters.
Awesome little car!
Another new car coming out to follow – this one beats all of the others I’ve been interested in by a long shot, though. Can’t wait ta see this pup at the dealers and out on the road!
My 2011 Kia Soul 5-speed base is such a great car and I have no reason ta believe that Kia’s going to manufacture a dud engineering-wise. Reliable? Yes, if our ’11 Soul is any indication about build quality, then there’s nothing to worry about. Kia won the JD Power new car buyer favorite carmaker award fairly recently, and there’s a reason for that. They are one awesome carmaker.
