Next-generation Kia Pro_cee’d image rendering reveals sharper new design!
This is our second glimpse of the forth-coming Kia pro_cee’d 3-door hatchback which is scheduled to make its official public premiere at the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September.
As evident from the image, the next-generation Kia pro_cee’d sports a similar exterior shape as its 5-door counterpart. However, the 3-door model incorporates a unique side profile and a whole different rear fascia with more aggressivelly styled taillamps and rear bumper.
Backing up the sportier looks of the new Kia Pro_cee’d will be the all-new 1,6L turbocharged (T-GDI) 4-cyl. engine which will also be available in the 5-door cee’d at a later point.
The 1,6L T-GDI engine is expected to generate around 183 horsepower and will be mated either to a six-speed manual or 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.

It sure would be nice if we in the USA could buy this hatchback. When are the car companies going to realize that there is a market for hatches if the higher horsepower models are available? The VW GTI and MazdaSpeed3 have the market cornered until the Ford Focus ST arrives. I predict that the Hyundai Elantra GT will not sell particularly well UNTIL the 1.6L turbo engine is included as an option. Anyone wanna bet?
