New Kia Cars In Europe Get 7-year Warranty

Every new Kia car sold in Europe is now available with the industry leading 7-year warranty coverage!

Kia is kicking off 2010 by extending its unique seven-year warranty to all cars – delivering Europe’s best manufacturer-backed protection for new car buyers.

Previously available only on their European-built products, such as the cee’d hatchback and Sportage crossover vehicle, the seven-year warranty will now apply to every vehicle in the Kia range from the Picanto city car to the range-topping Sorento SUV.

By offering the new 7-year warranty on all Kia models, the automaker has declared an intention to become the world’s number one car-maker for customer satisfaction.

This is the first and major step towards achieving that goal, commented Paul Philpott, Chief Operating Officer at Kia of Europe.

According to the automaker’s official press release, the new 7-Year warranty will be applied to all vehicles sold and registered in more than 20 European countries starting from January 1st., 2010.

Michael Cole, Managing Director of Kia Motors UK told to the press: The warranty covers every Kia vehicle for up to seven years – and no-one in the business can boast that. Furthermore, the warranty coverage is transferable to subsequent owners bringing a big increase for used car values.

FACT:The new 7-Year Kia Warranty is simply the ‘longest and best’ warranty available on any car, anywhere in Europe.

Clearly, a longer warranty is a better warranty and this move will give every Kia owner not just enjoyable motoring but genuine long-term peace of mind.

would be nice if we got this in Canada as we only get five years, or even better still the warranty they get in the US.

  2. TJ says:

They would be very smart to do the same in the US.

The US is a 10-year warranty.

Let’s be honest, it’s just a marketing trick really!
7 years, 10 years… that does not really mean anything does it? I mean how do the warranty specs compare? What is included, what not? Even more important: how are warranty claims treated? Are the claims accepted easily or are they trying everything not to pay out (like Kia has been known for doing every once and a while…). Furthermore the 7 years are limited to 150.000kms. I personnaly do about 60.000 a year, so this leaves me with 2,5 years warranty… so personnaly I preffered the 5 years no kms limit on the New Sorento and the Carens…
Of course none of the above says anything about the quality of the car. And by the way, for a while Kia had a “not satisfied, money back” guarantee! If after seven days (max 777kms, they really do have something with “7”) you were not fully satisfied you could just return the car, no questions asked!

    **ABSOLUTELY EXCLUSIVE**
Kia will debut its new voice activated audio system (comparable to Ford’s SYNC, only better) called UVO in the 2011 Kia Sorento SX in July! Kia’s partnership with Microsoft has payed off. Kia will announce UVO this week in Las Vegas. Sorry about the off topic.

In the US, the Kia warranty on all new Kias is 5 years or 60,000 miles “Basic” (transferable to subsequent owners), and 10 year or 100,000 mile Powertrain-only warranty (non-transferrable).

Vehicle manufacturers’ long-term warranties have historically only been provided for one of two reasons. First, to stimulate immediate vehicle sales, regardless of whether or not the vehicles were reliable (like Lee Iacocca did with Chrysler way back when). Or second, to enhance the competitive nature of any particular manufacturer’s vehicles – because they know that they are of a reasonable or better quality, and so that lproviding ong-term warranty claims (as Kia does) do not dramatically and negatively affect their bottom financial line.

BORN, I agree with you . I bought a KIA CEED when it’s 7000km , the bushes of the steering rack was damaged and kia dealer changed it for me ok , after a year and two months I saw a rush of rust in the top of the back left passenger door and the kia dealer spray the frame of the door and drop the rust preventer . I pretend a more quality from KIA MOTORS .
