The pricing for the 2014 Kia Sorento is now available, with the base model, the 2014 Sorento LX, coming in at $24,950 (including destination).  The LX is a front-wheel-drive, but you can add all-wheel drive to  the trim for an additional $1,700

The top-of-the-range all-wheel-drive Sorento SX-L (Limited) V6 comes in at $40,550.

The price for the 2014 Sorento LX is $950 more than the previous model, but it’s easy to see where the extra money goes.

The 175-horsepower 2,4L four-cylinder engine has been dropped in favor of a more powerful 191-hosepower 2,4L GDI four-cylinder engine, which was previously only optional.

You will find 17-inch alloy wheels, side mirrors with LED indicators, and stain-resistant cloth seats as standard on the 2014 Kia Sorento LX. There is also a third-row seating option for an additional $800.

The LX trim is the only one available on the 2014 version of the 4-cyl. powered Kia Sorento, but packages can be added that will load up the car and take it over the $30,000 mark, even without the addition of all-wheel drive.

There are three different option packages to choose from, starting with the $2,000 Convenience Package.

That adds UVO eServices, second-row sunshade, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, roof rails, rear sonar, heated front seats, fog lamps and floor mats to the already impressive list of standard features.

Once you have the Convenience Package added, you can then add the $2,600 Premium package which comes with leather seats, eight-way power driver’s seat, push-button start, interior accent lights, a more advanced instrument cluster display, rear spoiler, and exterior front door pocket lighting.

For an extra $2,800, you can opt for the Touring Package, which will get you navigation with an eight-inch touch screen, a premium 10-speaker audio system, memory driver seat, power-folding outside mirrors, power passenger seat, cooled front seats, blind spot monitoring system, and a programmable power liftgate.

The Premium and Touring Packages can also come with air conditioned third-row seating for an additional $1,000.

The V-6 models get a new 290-horsepower 3,3L GDI engine, which is an upgrade from the 279-hp 3.5-liter V-6 that appeared in last year’s model.

The 2014 Sorento LX V6 starts at $26,550, and increase of $1,600 from the LX I-4. It also gets silver roof rails and comes with a $2,600 Convenience Package option which has the same upgrades as those available on the LX (4-cyl.), plus a couple of extras.

Kia Sorento EX V6

The all-new Sorento EX V6 ($30,850) comes with 18-inch wheels, illuminated door handles, fog lights and LED marker lights in the headlight cluster, rear spoiler, dual climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, Kia’s UVO system with backup camera, push button start, seven-inch instrument cluster display, backup warning, leather first- and second-row seats, and heated front seats with eight-way power driver’s seat standard.

You can also add a $4,000 Touring Package to this model, which will mean the addition of navigation with eight-inch touchscreen, and the 10-speaker audio system, memory driver seat, power-folding outside mirror, panoramic moonroof, roof rails, blind spot monitoring system, programmable power tailgate, and cooled front seats. For an additional $1000 you can also add a third row with rear air conditioning.

2014 Kia Sorento SX

Features standard on the Sorento SX ($35,850) include machine-finish 19-inch alloy wheels, chrome trim and exhaust pipes, front and rear stainless steel accent plates, shiny front grille trim, LED taillamps, panoramic moonroof, chrome roof rails, FlexSteer selectable steering, rear air conditioning, navigation with eight-inch screen and real-time traffic, 10-speaker audio system, illuminated stainless steel scuff plates, programmable power liftgate, cooled front seats, and four-way power front passenger seat.

The next step up, the SX-L, adds 19-inch chrome wheels, red brake calipers, HID headlights, fabric-wrapped A-pillar, heated leather and wood steering wheel, Nappa leather seat trim, driver seat and mirror memory, and heated second-row seats.

The 2014 Kia Sorento SX-L comes in three exterior colors (Ebony Black, Snow White Pearl, and Titanium Silver).

The new 2014 Kia Sorento model has strong foundations on which to build and evolve.

Got the SXL. Pretty much the only thing I didn’t get was the 3rd row seating. We already have that in our Kia Rondo 🙂
