The 2022 Soul Turbo sits at the top of the range, and for good reason. It is absolutely loaded with all the gadgets and safety features that you could think of, yet it still comes in at a relatively affordable $27,790 (excluding the destination charge of $1,150).

Fuel economy

As you might expect, the Soul GT-Line Turbo is the speediest of the bunch, but it is also surprisingly good on gas, with the official MPG figures set at 27 city, 32 highway, 29 combined.

Wheels & tire size

Totally unsurprising is that the sporty 2022 Kia Soul Turbo model should come with some cool-looking alloy wheels and quality tires, which are 7.5J x 18 alloys with P235/45 R18 tires.

Exterior color options

According to the official Kia Soul online configurator, which allows you to build your very own unique Soul set-up, there are 5 different exterior colors for the 2022 Kia Soul Turbo.

The only color option for your interior is black, but on the outside, you get to choose between Inferno Red, Neptune Blue, Gravity Gray, Snow White Pearl, and Cherry Black.

Difference between the GT-Line and Turbo trim levels

As we mentioned earlier, there are two range-topping Soul models available: the GT-Line and the Turbo, both of which look very similar at first glance. The devil is in the details, though, beginning with the engine.

More power for “turbo” model

The standard GT-Line comes equipped with a 147-horsepower 2,0L 4-cylinder engine, while the Turbo model is powered by a 1,6L turbo engine that cranks out 201-horsepower. There is an IVT automatic transmission in the standard GT-Line and a 7-speed DCT in the Turbo model.

Tied on fuel economy

If it’s performance and drivability that you are after, the Turbo model is certainly the better choice, while those more interested in fuel efficiency will see an advantage with the less potent GT-Line.

It’s not a huge difference, though, with the GT-Line getting 27/33/30 *mpg versus the 27/32/29 *mpg delivered by the turbo model.

“Turbo” looks sharper

There are also differences in how these models look from the outside, with the Turbo receiving some styling enhancements.

The Turbo model offers chrome-tipped center exhaust, heated outside mirrors with LED turn indicators, LED headlights and LED front fog lights, LED positioning lights, LED taillights and standard power sunroof.

Features mentioned here are not available on the standard GT-Line trim.

Less color choices for “turbo”

If color is important, you might like that the GT-Line offers 3 two-tone exterior options on top of the 5 colors available on the Turbo model. The more potent Turbo model doesn’t offer doesn’t offer two tone color combinations.
