Kia Optima midsize sedan is expected to receive a mid-cycle refresh for the 2019 model year.
Latest reports coming from South Korea suggest the official unveiling is scheduled for summer this year, while domestic sales should commence shortly after.
It is not known at this point when does Kia plan to launch the Optima facelift in the U.S. and Canada, but we think the automaker will officially unveil it at the L.A. Auto Show in November.

Here we have the very first spy photos of the heavily camouflaged prototypes, which confirm that the vehicle will raceive a major makeover, rather than just simple cosmetic tweaks.
This could be due to the fact that the current model’s design hasn’t been accepted well with the customers, so sales have nosedived compared to the predecessor.
What is evident is the fact that the refreshed Optima will get a more sportier exterior layout with major changes being made to the front fascia, while the rear end will remain nearly intact.
We are pretty confident that the carmaker will also alightly upgrade the interior design, as well as introduce latest safety features such as the smart cruise control and autonomous emergency braking.
It remains to be seen whether Kia plans to do any upgrades to the powertrain.
