This is how you change the flat tire on a Kia car!
There may be nothing worse than hearing and feeling that familiar rumble that indicates you have a flat tire.
The good news is that changing out the flat is not as complicated as you might think.
Read on to get a step by step guide that will help you get back on the road with a new tire on your Kia vehicle.
Before you even think about heading out on the road, you should check to make sure that you have all the tools you need to replace a flat tire.
That amounts to three things:
- spare tire
- jack
- lug wrench

1. When it comes time to change the flat, make sure the car is on a flat surface and that the emergency brake is deployed.
Imagine trying to change a tire, only to have you vehicle start rolling off in the opposite direction.
To be totally safe, you might consider placing a block of some sort behind the opposite tire.
2. Next, if your Kia car has a hubcap, you will need to take it off, which is usually a pretty easy task.
Your lug wrench can actually help you complete this little task, but that is not the most important role for this tool in the tire changing process.
3. With the hubcap off, it’s time to go to work on those lug nuts. These are likely to be on there pretty tightly, so you will need to put in a little effort to get them moving.
Make sure that you are turning the nuts in the right direction, using the righty tighty, lefty loosey mantra to help you. You only want to loosen the nuts at this point, not remove them completely.
4. Now is the time to bring your jack into the mix.
Before getting your Kia car off the ground, you may want to consult the owner’s manual to find out what the proper placement of the jack should be.
Once positioned, start turning the hand crank to raise the car.
You will want to get the car to a decent height before you complete the task of getting the lug nuts off completely. You should eventually get them loose enough so that the final few turns can be done by hand.
The car should be jacked up high enough so that the damaged tire can slide right off.
Set that tire aside and add the spare, making sure to properly line up the lugs with the holes in the wheel.
5. Once that is done, get the lug nuts back on and tighten them as much as you can.
You can then lower your Kia back to the ground and remove the jack. Before you place the hubcap back on, give the lug nuts another go with the wrench to make them as tight as possible.
If your Kia spare tire looks like it might need some air, hit your nearest gas station and fill it up as quickly as possible, and that’s the job done!
